Metta's IELTS

Whoa bloggies, sorry such a long time nver updated this blog! Been busy with loads of assignments!! but anyway.. let's just jump through time and see what's happening now!

So, Metta's going to graduate this July (where does the time fly?!?) and she's still confused whether or not to stay in Australia. But, she did her best to take IELTS test to make up the points to get Temporary Resident anyways. She wasn't so sure that she'll get the point that the government asked (she needs 6 to get TR). So there she went for her test.........

some weeks later...the result's out! and VOILA!!! SHE DID IT!!!! she got 6.5 for her test!!! She was so damn happy that she called her friend to tell this good news....But then her friend was like, "Don't you know that the government closed the TR for a year?". And she was like, "huh? you serious?" Then she checked the government website and there it was, the new rule. No TR for this year (at least that's what she interpreted it).

She was then sooo daammmnnn saaaaddd......and disappointed (of course).... and went to her room... and...... (sorry to say this, Met, but i'm sure you'll remember this....) CRY............

Yup, she was there crying. I didn't dare to go inside the room, seriously, I'm scared if somone's crying. I'd rather leave the person alone... hehe my bad...... But I went in anyways with Hoa accompanying me :) There, Metta told us that she's so dissapointed that she's already done her best but somehow it just doesn't go the way she wanted. She said, "I still wanna be in Australia, I was ready to go home for good but then I don't really know what to do. I just feel that I'm not ready. I don't know what to do in Indo" and cry and cry and cry...... sob sob.......

Till that night, she called Yessica, her friend, who yelled at her, "what do you mean TR's close?!?!?! It's NOT!!!!! READ IT CAREFULLY!!!"

you know.... it's not closed!!! Actually, the government just wanna do some maintenance for the new rule, but not close it!! and Metta already cried because of it. I know i know, she was damn embarrassed. She kept on asking Ade afterwards, "was I lebay? Gosh, it's so embarracing"

I know rite, lebay! hahahahaha :)

but then, the story doesn't end there! She then received the hard copy of her IELTS test. She saw it in the mailbox, opened it (just to check whether it's the same as the one's online) and then she put it back in the mailbox because she needed to go somewhere first. And the next thing you know, that night, when she wanted to grab the results, it's not there. It's just gone~~ not in the mailbox anymore.

It's weird, isn't it? It's just gone! Seriously.....Our hypothesis is Metta didn't really put it back in the mailbox. But she said she's 100% sure she put it back in..... but who knows.. it's Metta, anything can happen. And the unfortunate thing is, it can't be ordered again. Once it's sent, that's it. We can't ask for the copy.
We still don't know how this story ends, but for now, Metta said she'll just go back to Indo. But who knows.... It's Metta we're talking about.

the redbull air race 2008

I remember that time,

Redbull, the famous energy drink that most of uni students would drink during exams.....
It holds an airrace every year, I don't really know why people love this event so much. To sum up, it's just smokey air crafts that fly up in the air, making circles, heart shapes, and other weird shapes. But hey, it was the first time I watched it in Australia.

So yeah, my college friends and I planned to go to Kings Park together, when suddenly Ade asked whether it's okay to bring his housemate. We were like, yeah, of course, why not?
And there she was, the skinny, short, fuzzy little girl called Metta popped out in my life. First impression.... hmm... Ade's girlfriend?? Well, no, she wasn't. She's just a girl, went to the same highschool as Ade, and by that time she's in PIBT studying commerce. In contrary to my ambition, she wanted to gain weight!!! She still does :)

Not much to say about this meeting though. We went to Kings Park together, had a little chit chat, I didn't really like Metta at first I must say. She was ermm.. how to say it... too girly? hahaha You know that kind of chirpy little girl that when she speaks, no one can hold her back. I told my friend, Kaye that I will not be her housemate, never will!!! But fate says different. We eventually becomes housemates, roommates, even.... bedmates..........

the college

As I promised before, I'm going to tell you guys, how I met my housemates :)

First, there is David and Ade.
I went to the college in Australia and I knew completely no one. This world, called Australia is really new for me. So yeah, I went there and during the break, I was sitting there in front of computer, knowing nothing to do, having no friends to talk to, just staring at the computer.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, there were these two guys, speaking the language I know. So I turned my head around and there they were. Two guys, from the same country as I am, chatting!

But the story doesn't end there. We never met again, ever since. I'd even forgotten their names! I know, what the hell right? I made new friends but never seen them again. They're like vanish!! I'd never met them again until the next term.

There he was, sitting in front of me in chemistry class.
My friend, Vina: "Steph, he's Indonesian too."
Me: "Huh? Who? Where? I don't think he is... he looks like.... ermm Singaporean!"
Vina: "Nooo.... I bet you, he's from Indo"
And so I poked him, the guy with a mow hawk, asking if he's from Indo or not. And guess what, he's David, the guy I met earlier. And guess what again, that time I didn't realized that I'd already met him.

I don't remember how I met Ade again, but if I'm not mistaken, I met him again during the break. I guess because he's David's friend and he was with David during the break. So there we were, the beginning of our lives of being housemates.

Well, there are stories about how we can be housemates, but I think we can skip that for later. Let's just jump through time and we become housemates from the beginning of my uni until... ermm.... now?

intro

Allow me to introduce myself,

You can call me Steph, studying exercise and health science, 2nd year. Biggest ambition right now? LOSE WEIGHT! I know, it's every girls' ambition, but you know, since I landed in Australia I went from 50kg to 60kg in a year! Can you imagine that? I went from a little dough to a big puffy sponge cake!!! (Now i'm feeling hungry)

Well anyway, I'm living in this beautiful apartment on the side of a beautiful swan river which
hold a huge amount of sustenance for ducks, swans, pelicans, and the CROW!!! Yup, the crows that screams everyday in front of my windows, saying "HOAAAA.... HOAAA... HOAAA". Why "HOA"? Hmmm... it's the name of my friend, but I'll get to that later.

Well, anyway back to my apartment! We have 3 "spacious"
bedrooms (at least that's what they said in the advertisement), a dark but spacious kitchen (the lamp is not working), and a living room with an unused old television. Yup, sounds horrible, but nope, our place is the best apartment ever! Why?? Because we have 5 (plus 1) cool people living in it!!! :)

Ow, P.S. We're just moving in to that apartment for 2 months! Our pervious apartment was waaaaaayyy better, but this one is waaaayy closer to my uni :)

I know it's hard to read a looonggg blog at a time, so I'm gonna put their profile another post, okie :)

Hello world!

Hi bloggies,

I was watching a TV series called "how I met your mother" and I was inspired!
I'm living in Perth, Australia as an international student, and I think I have a kind of similar life with these people in the TV series. So I was thinking, why not making a blog about it? Guess it should be fun PLUS if someday we don't live together again (sure that day will come) then we can anyhow look into this blog and remember those funny things that happened in the apartment we lived in!

And for you who's reading this blog, have fun! :)
